Trying to find practical ways to make money online, but not sure what you should do?
I know what it feels like to be a beginner trying to make money online. Back then, I read so many articles until my head started reeling, and I still did not know how to make money online.
As you may know by now some of the information online is crap, some are scams, most are a waste of time and there are few that really can help you to succeed. So how can you really make money online if you don’t have money to purchase $200 courses with premium information?
Well, you can read and put the pieces together. But that’s going to take a long time. First of all stay clear of business models that promise to turn you into a millionaire overnight.
Making money online takes hard work and consistency.
Today I want to use this blog post to steer you in the right direction. There are many types of business models you can try online to make a full-time income. This list is by no means exhaustive. There are lots of other ways to make money online. But in my opinion, this is the top 7 practical ways to make money online.
Starting an eCommerce store is the best way to make money online.
But of course, there is a start-up cost that can range from a couple of hundred dollars to several thousand. How much money is needed for your start-up will depend entirely on the product you plan to sell.
You can sell physical products or digital products.
Some eCommerce stores do drop shipping, print on demand, white label products, or buy products and stock inventories. The model you choose is completely up to your personal preference.
All of these business models can make you money.
Selling Physical Products
To sell physical products you’ll need a supplier for your goods. Go to alibaba.com and find a manufacturer in china to order your goods from. Do your market research before you order any products.
Go to Amazon.com and find a product that is doing well.
Don’t neglect to sell on your own website, to make even more money with your product.
2) Digital Products
Selling physical products is not the only way to have an e-commerce store. You can also make excellent money by selling digital products.
Some of these digital products are easy to create. you Make the product once and resell it numerous times. If you don’t have the necessary skills to make your own digital product outsource it.
Find someone on Upwork or Fiverr to create your digital products for you.
Digital products that you could sell include:
- WordPress themes
- Website templates
- Short films Etc
- Print on demand
They’re many eCommerce platforms on the market to choose from. The choice is up to you. If you don’t have a lot of money to start your eCommerce store. I would suggest starting your store with WordPress and Woocommerce.
However, if you have some money and want to pay for a platform to sell products on you can try Shopify, Bigcommerce, Squarespace, Easy Digital Download Wix, or Magento.
If you’re not interested in having your own store you can sell your products on several popular Marketplace such as
- Creative Market
- Teachers Pay Teacher
- Your own website
Just remember when you sell on platforms like Amazon, Etsy, and Ebay you have to pay a fee.
You will definitely make more money if you sell on your own platform but it takes time to build an audience to make those sales. I would suggest you sell on your own site and Amazon also to make maximum income.
Blogging is one of the most practical ways to make money online. But, it takes hard work and consistency to succeed.
Please don’t think you’re just going to write a blog post and the traffic and money is going to come rolling in. It’s not as simple as that. After you write the blog post you have to drive traffic and find affiliate products to promote. It’s a balancing act.
But the trade-off is good, as you can make good money to retire on.
If you don’t love to write, forget blogging. Try Youtube instead.
Another factor to consider is your interest. Try not to choose a niche just because it makes good money.
Make sure you enjoy the topic you are writing about. Otherwise, you’ll give up easily and hate the entire process of creating content. Yet still the flip side of this is that not all niches can make money. Some niches like blogging and making money online make money or even more money than other niches.
One of the biggest problems that I see with blogs is that they’re in the wrong niche. Contrary to what these articles are saying Niche selection is crucial to blogging success.
If you decide to start a blogging business try to choose topics surrounding money, health, and relationships.
Somehow other high paying niches include:
- Personal finance
- Weight loss
- Make money online
- Work from home
- Mom blogs / blogging
- Mom blogs/ make money online
4) Youtube Videos
YouTube is free and you can’t beat free. This is one of the best ways to make money online. Just head over to Gmail and sign up for an account. Use your Gmail account to create a Youtube channel. Choose a topic for your channel, whether that be food, fashion, reviews, or vlogging.
Monetize your videos with affiliate marketing, Ads, and sponsored videos. When you gain 1000 subscribers you will be able to turn on Google ads to monetize your videos.
You can also join the Amazon affiliate program or any other affiliate network that you like.
Make videos and mention the products and services that you like.
Recommend them to your audience and add links to your description box. When someone clicks on your affiliate links you will get a commission from the sale of the product. You can also make money from doing sponsored videos.
Reach out to your favorite brands and pitch them an offer to recommend their products to your audience for a price.
Don’t underestimate the power of freelancing. In my mind freelancing is one of the most practical and original ways to make money online. This is how I started out online.
A freelancer is an independent contractor that exchanges service for money. You are able to work on your own time and initiative.
It’s up to you to decide how much money you make. Where and when you work. Because freelancing is so huge there are many areas you could do freelance work in, such as writing, copywriting, graphic design, tutoring, teaching web design, web development.
6) Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to earn money online. If you ask most online entrepreneurs about their income, more than 75% of their total income comes from affiliate marketing.
If you use and love a particular product why not recommend the product or service to your audience? When you make recommendations to your audience and they make a purchase you get a percentage of that money.
It’s a great business model because you’re earning can be limitless. You can make thousands of dollars monthly. You can make as much or as this money as you would like if you put in the effort.
There is some downside to affiliate marketing. sometimes the company changes its product or a product is discontinued for no particular reason.
Because this is a possibility when you run an online business it’s always best to have multiple streams of income instead of just one so if an affiliate product you like cancels its product it won’t greatly affect your overall.
Podcasting is a money-making Beast. Over the last years, podcasting has gained popularity as a great way to make money online.
Many bloggers and online entrepreneurs make thousands of dollars monthly with their show.
Some people find it difficult to read online. That’s where podcasting comes in. People listen to up to 85% of a podcast they download. It gives the speaker enough time to grab the listener’s attention and recommend products and services.
If you have a large audience you can also charge an arm and a leg for brands to advertise on your podcast.
Podcasting is less crowded than blogging. And a lot of bloggers are shy. They will write blog posts but not do videos or podcasting.
You can use one stone to kill two birds and make twice as much money. Here is how.
Start a podcast around a specific niche (topic) Pay someone to transcribe your podcast and upload the content to your website.
You could also upload your podcast to youtube and have youtube transcribe the video for you for free. Monetize your podcast By offering coaching services, affiliate marketing, sponsorship, sell your own products and services.etc.
Monetize your transcribe blog content, the same way with your affiliate program, sponsored post, etc.
This is an easy beautiful way to make twice as much money with your blog and podcasting.
Many more business models exist online. But if you’re looking for a long term sustainable income these are the best ways I have found to earn a full-time income consistently.
Now that you know which direction to head in, Which one of these business models are you going to try?
